Nevada road
Fish Lake Valley, Nevada (1986)
Long stretches of the American West as high on loneliness and low on people. This section of a rural road in western Nevada is typical: a highway engineer's delight. Much of this country is designated as "open range" which means that the highways are not even fenced, and it is the responisibility of drivers to avoid meandering animals.
