First atomic city
Arco, Idaho (1986)
The Atoms for Peace program, a product of WWII, was an attempt to convince the body of Americans that radiation could be good for you. It had mixed success, but did spur a huge economic boom to Arco, Idaho, a small town on the edge of the active volcanic realm that is now "Craters of the Moon." The basic ideas was, light up a town with atomic juice and prove to everyone that it's safe. The town still exists.
