Public sentiment about livestock grazing on open range lands used to be widely favorable. As this suggests, in at least some cases, that feeling may be changing, until in the 1990s, a variety of outspoken environmentalist initiatives have pressed for the removal of ALL livestock from public lands. Whether this is a fringe view or more mainstream obviously waits to be seen.
