Stop Nuclear Testing

Protests by Native Americans against the below-ground testing of atomic weapons in central Nevada have been going on for some time. But with claims by the Western Shoshone people that that land, supposedly under the ownership of the Federal Government, is actually Indian property, the protests have taken on a special vigor. They may have considerable evidence on their side. In any event, the opposition to testing is building, and Native Americans have joined a suite of others in arguing that this use of land is inappropriate.
