Silver Peak, Nevada (1986)
The elaborate trailer culture that exists in the United States has gone well beyond being a curiosity, it is very much a way of life for people who live in areas both rural and urban. Whether the homes are trailers, mobile homes, land yachts, or "manufactured housing" (the official federal government category) there are traits in common, including affordable lodging that can be owned (or rented) for inexpensive prices by people who might otherwise not have access. In some states, and in particular, in some notable locales where business is booming, up to fifty percent of the population is housed in such residences.
