Takasago Thermal Power Station, a coal-fired thermal power station exclusively using domestic coal and equipped with a discharge port, is one of the power stations of the kind which EPDC constructed in support of the government's 'General Outline of Coal Measures', introduced in 1962. Since then, EPDC has been taking particular care to conserve the environment, through such steps as installing the first total flue-gas desulfurizer in Japan and total wastewater treatment system.
