The railway station Arth Goldau is one of the most important nodes of the Swiss Federal Railways (Schweizerische Bundesbahnen SBB), as well as of the Swiss South Eastern Railway (Süd-Ost-Bahn, SOB): Trains from Luzern to St. Gallen pass by Arth Goldau, so do trains from Bellinzona, Lugano which connect Zug, Zürich and Basel to Italy. All freight (Cargo) trains crossing the Swiss Alps roll through this station. One of them can be seen as "ghost train" on the panorama.

In addition to trains carrying passengers and freight from North to South, the Arth-Rigi-Bahn, also leaving from Arth Goldau, brings/conveys numerous visitors to one of the most beautiful mountains of Switzerland – the Rigi.
