Old Lockheed Starfighter F104 on display at a roundabout in Peer Belgium, very near to the Kleine-Brogel airforce base (very interesting in high resolution on Google Earth) a bit West of Peer. This airplane transported bombs & missiles during the cold-war era. In Germany it was nicknamed the widowmaker "witwenmacher" or also commenly called "missile with a man in it"... . A version of this machine was also used for the land speed record jet car (the Eagle) ??!! I really like the strange combination of putting other "transportation" vehicles on a roundabout, it is truly a strange sighting when you pass by it...Belgium's surrealistic approach to land-art?
